The story of the horrific massacre of seven people in Toulouse, France came to a close today as police shot the murderer, Mohamed Merah, following a long siege around his house. The Jewish victims - Rabbi Jonathan Sandler, a 30-year-old teacher at the Otzar Hatorah school in Toulouse, his sons Arieh, 5, and Gabriel, 4, and seven-year-old Myriam Monsonego, the daughter of the school's principal - have been laid to rest.

Together with all of the Jewish people, we mourn this indescribable loss. G-d will certainly take revenge on all who kill innocent people. Whoever does not respect the life of G-d's creations will have to face Heavenly retribution on the great and awesome Day of Judgment.

As the dust settles, we are left wondering why the murderer targeted Jews. Speaking to police from his besieged apartment, Merah said he wanted to avenge the deaths of Palestinian children killed by the Israeli army. But then why would he target innocent Jews? How exactly are Jews in France responsible for whatever the Israeli army did?

The answer is that they aren't, but that's how many people in the world see it. The common misconception is that Judaism and Zionism are synonymous, and the result is that we, the Jews of the world, are made to pay for what Zionists do.

This young father could have been any of us. These children could have been any of our children. Thanks to Zionism, none of us are safe.

Zionism has already brought so many misfortunes upon Jews, and they have their share in this tragedy as well.

From this tragedy we must learn the importance of making known to the entire world that Zionists do not represent Jews, and that their state is not a Jewish state. Torah Jews did not create the State of Israel, and have no connection to it. It is therefore a terrible crime to blame the Jewish people in general for their actions.

Not surprisingly, the Israeli government derived quite a different lesson from the tragedy. Member of Knesset Yaakov Ketzale expressed his condolences to the families of the dead and called on all French Jews to “immigrate to Israel.. Diaspora Jews have no future. The future of Judaism is in the land of Israel. Here the Jewish people are establishing their kingdom heroically, as an example for the world.”

This is the Zionist's idea of heroism: to stir up conflicts while acting in the name of the entire Jewish people, placing all Jews in the world in danger. May G-d have mercy on us.

Our message to Ketzale and other Zionists is:

Have you killed these Jews and inherited them as well? Is it not enough that they died as innocent casualties of your conflict? Do you have to reap benefit from their deaths too by encouraging immigration to your state?

May we be privileged to see the redemption, when there will be peace throughout the world.
