US, Britain Urge State of Israel not to Attack Iran

Feb. 22, 2012

The U.S. and Britain on Sunday urged Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear program as the White House's national security adviser arrived in the region, reflecting growing international jitters that the Israelis are poised to strike.

In their warnings, both the U.S. joint chiefs of staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, and British Foreign Minister William Hague said an Israeli attack on Iran would have grave consequences for the entire region and urged Israel to give international sanctions against Iran more time to work. Dempsey said an Israeli attack is "not prudent," and Hague said it would not be "a wise thing."

Both Israel and the West believe Iran is trying to develop a nuclear bomb — a charge Tehran denies. But differences have emerged in how to respond to the perceived threat.

The U.S. and the European Union have both imposed harsh new sanctions targeting Iran's oil sector, the lifeline of the Iranian economy. With the sanctions just beginning to bite, they have expressed optimism that Iran can be persuaded to curb its nuclear ambitions.

Our comment:

In keeping with the principles of True Torah Jews, we do not take any sides in political conflicts, because we are a purely Torah-based organization. But one thing is certain: the State of Israel has brought a great misfortune upon the Jewish people. Torah Jews are greatly pained and are almost speechless at the arrogance of the Zionist leadership in claiming to speak in the name of the Jewish people. They do whatever they please in the world, and we have to pay the price, Heaven forbid.

Given the history of the Zionist movement and its state, we view their claim that "we must attack Iran for reasons of security, we cannot wait for sanctions to work" with great suspicion. Beginning from the time of World War II, history has shown that the Zionists have always placed their desire for sovereignty, land and other political agendas above Jewish blood. We are therefore very fearful in the current situation, and we see the Israeli leaders as reckless people who have no problem with sacrificing Jewish lives to achieve their goals. If anything, we view the U.S. State Department as a more loyal friend of the Jews, both in America and in the Holy Land, than the Israeli leaders.

We appeal once again to world leaders to remember that the Israeli government does not speak in the name of the Jewish people. Their actions, conflicts and statements have no connection with Jews or Judaism.
