TTJ Publishes New English Book

Aug. 10, 2007

On Friday, August 10, 2007, Jews commemorated the 28th anniversary of the passing of Grand Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum (1887-1979), former rabbi of Satmar, Hungary and revered leader of tens of thousands of Jews in New York and worldwide. Thousands flocked to visit his grave in Monroe, New York.

Rabbi Teitelbaum was the foremost exponent of Torah-based anti-Zionism of his generation, and he published several books on the subject, including his famous Vayoel Moshe (1960). Anti-Zionist Jews from all circles continue to derive their inspiration from him. Jews in the communities founded by him now number over 120,000 worldwide.

TTJ marked the occasion by selling for the first time their new book, "In the Footsteps of the Flock". This book is a compilation of ideas and discussions on the weekly Torah readings, culled from the works of Rabbi Teitelbaum and many other anti-Zionist rabbis such as Rabbi Yitzchok Zev Soloveitchik, Rabbi Yisroel Meir Kagan and Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman. The material in the book was originally published by Jews Against Zionism in the form of weekly newsletters called Parsha Pearls, available on this website in pdf format.

Traditionally, Rabbi Teitelbaum's classic works are sold outside the cemetery in Monroe to the many visitors from around the world. "In the Footsteps of the Flock" was also sold there at a special table.
