The sefer is the product of many years of research. It is written in the form of a dialogue, inspired to a great degree by actual debates and exchanges of letters that have taken place over the past 12 years between the author and visitors to this website. I Will Await Him also takes on countless pro-Zionist books and articles that have appeared over the past 60 years since the Satmar Rebbe wrote his classic work on Zionism, Vayoel Moshe.
I Will Await Him is written in the style of Talmudic debate, and is therefore recommended only for those accustomed to this style and familiar with the background literature and its technical terms. The book is entirely in English, but the original Hebrew sources are quoted in full in the footnotes.
One major feature of the sefer is that aside from going through all the legal and theological arguments, it lists and categorizes all famous rabbis who lived in the era of Zionism and the State of Israel, summarizing their viewpoints and quoting from their works.
Rabbi Elya Ber Wachtfogel, Rosh Yeshiva of South Fallsburg, writes in his letter of approbation, printed in the sefer: “The sefer Achakeh Lo is overflowing with material on a legal subject that is very relevant in our time, the subject of the Three Oaths. I see that the author has covered all the details of the subject in the manner of Torah scholars, with questions and answers. He quotes the words of our early halachic authorities and the Gedolei Yisroel in every generation. I was very pleased: this work is crucial reading for Bnei Torah. Therefore I hereby bless the author that he succeed through the sefer in teaching Torah and bringing the hearts of Jews closer to their Father in Heaven.”
Rabbi Mordechai Marcus, Rav of Congregation Beth Medrash Govoha of Flatbush, writes in his letter of approbation, printed in the sefer: “My signature testifies that Rabbi Yirmiyahu Cohen, a wise young man whom I have known for many years, came before me. I know him as someone whose Yiras Shomayim precedes his chochma and is knowledgeable in many areas. And now he wishes to publish a comprehensive work on a complex legal issue that has arisen among the Jewish people over the last hundred years: the settlement of the Holy Land, by individuals or en masse, and the waging of wars for this purpose. I will withhold my personal opinion at least for now on a subject on which greater people have already debated. But in this work you will find spread out, as on a table, many arguments and debates on this subject, which will enlighten your eyes. As Scripture says: Give to a wise man and he will become wiser.”
