Our mission is to inform the world that the State of Israel does NOT represent Jews or Judaism.

Let Our Voices Be Heard!

March 6, 2014

As the Israeli government prepares to pass the law of forced conscription for Orthodox Jews, which will threaten the future of Jewry in the Holy Land, the Jewish world is in an uproar. As part of Orthodoxy Jewry’s response, True Torah Jews is launching a campaign of radio ads to bring our protest to the American public.

The dramatic developments in the battle waged by the Orthodox Jews of the Holy Land against the new law are being followed with great concern by Jews around the world.

In Eretz Yisroel, people have begun to feel that a state of emergency is at hand. Almost seventy years after the state’s founding, which brought with it a wave of anti-religious persecution lasting to this very day, the wicked leaders of the state are still at it. Their current project is an attempt to assimilate the remaining religious Jews - those who with Hashem’s help have held out until now - into their society. The entire Zionist political machine has shifted into high gear and declared war on this little pocket of faithful Jews. Their weapon of choice is forcibly inducting thousands of young men into the Zionist “melting pot” - the Israeli army, a permissive environment where all the worst sins of Judaism become commonplace, an army whose every operation is forbidden by the Torah.

This week, the Knesset’s Shaked Committee has concluded that Jews refusing the draft will be treated as criminals. This is the bill that is now being submitted to the Knesset for a vote.

Now more than ever, it is critical for all of world Jewry to express its unified outcry. It must be known that we will not rest nor be silent. We are not ready to compromise, and we will not back away from our principles. We will fight every effort to drag our youth into the evil Zionist army.

This past Sunday, March 2, there was a massive demonstration in the Holy Land. Orthodox Jews gathered at the entrance of Jerusalem in the what some have called the largest protest of its kind in recent history. Most estimated the crowd there at over 600,000 men, women and children.

Now it is our turn. The eyes of the Jews of Eretz Yisroel, who don’t know what tomorrow will bring, look to their brethren around the world, asking us to lift up our voices and stop the persecution of religion in the Holy Land.

The Satmar Rebbe in Vayoel Moshe 113 points out that Israeli politicians are not so afraid of demonstrators in their own country, under their power. The only way to intimidate them is with protests by Jews in other countries. In his words, “When there is an outcry and a protest outside their country, to the point that the non-Jews hear that there are among the Jewish people keepers of the Torah and mitzvos who are willing to put their lives on the line for the Torah and are ready to fight for the honor of G-d and His Torah, it embarrasses them.” Doubtless, there still exists the possibility that protests in the U.S. will have some effect.

As such, thousands of Orthodox Jews will gather on Water Street in lower Manhattan this Sunday at 2:00 PM to pray and protest against the current effort by the Israeli government to pass a law to draft religious Jews into its army.

Over the past year, True Torah Jews has taken a leading role in the battle against the draft. Last summer, when Orthodox Jewry held massive demonstrations in New York and in Brussels, True Torah Jews activists made sure these events got covered as much as possible in the media and that the right message got out. We made sure that our refusal to serve was not portrayed in the media merely as refusal to leave the yeshiva academies, but as a complete objection to the State of Israel and everything it stands for.

Now that the situation has deteriorated further, True Torah Jews is once again putting efforts on many fronts to get the world’s attention turned to our protest against the Zionists.

It is noteworthy when Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke to AIPAC lobbyists in Washington this week, the focal point of the speech was Netanyahu’s demand that the Palestinians recognize the State of Israel as a Jewish state as a prerequisite for further peace negotiations. Many are puzzled: why is he so stubborn about this minor detail? Why should the entire peace process depend on it? Seemingly, he has already made much greater concessions, such as freeing terrorists with blood on their hands. But we see here that the Zionists place great importance on the world recognizing them as a Jewish state. That would be the greatest victory for them, for then the Jewish people would be officially denying the validity of G-d’s decree of exile and His providential care over us.

So when the headlines are all about Netanyahu’s demand for recognition as a Jewish state, the time is ripe for Orthodox Jews to show the world the other side of the coin: that in this so-called Jewish state there is currently more anti-Jewish persecution than anywhere else in the world, as politicians attempt to strangle Orthodox Jewry at all costs.

At such a time, every publicity action we take counts more than ever, and we’re counting on the support of people who understand the importance of these actions.

True Torah Jews is launching a costly radio campaign as our part in this battle. Radio ads have brought us results in the past; they have proved to be one of the best ways of fulfilling the Satmar Rebbe’s directive to make known to the non-Jewish world that the Zionists are not the representatives of the Jewish people, and to condemn their plans against religious Jews. Details of the ad are being ironed out at True Torah Jews offices right now.

It costs $550 to sponsor one minute of radio time. Call now to sponsor: 718-873-0756.
